GE UR series Module -01

GE UR8FH (UR-8FH) is a Current Transformer/Voltage Transformer (CT/VT) module specifically designed for the General Relay Series, playing a crucial role in the monitoring and control of power systems. Its core function is to provide precise current and voltage scaling for relays, enabling efficient monitoring and control operations.

I. Core Technical ParametersCurrent Transformer Configuration

The module is equipped with 3 current transformers (1A/5A) for phase current measurement, which can accurately monitor the current of each phase and provide key data for evaluating the operating status of the power system. Additionally, it is furnished with 1 current transformer (1A/5A) for ground current measurement. While this transformer does not have a sensitive grounding function (it cannot provide protection for general relays in high-impedance grounding systems—modules with this function include UR-8G, UR-8J, UR-8M, and UR-8R), it can still function effectively in conventional ground current monitoring scenarios.

Voltage Transformer Terminals

It is provided with 4 voltage transformer terminals for voltage scaling. These terminals can proportionally convert high voltages into voltage levels suitable for relay monitoring and processing, ensuring that relays can accurately acquire system voltage information and thereby achieve effective monitoring and control of power system voltages.

Input Characteristics

It supports voltage or contact input on channels 1-4 or 5-8, offering flexibility for connecting different types of signals. Users can select appropriate input channels and input methods based on actual application scenarios and sensor types to meet diverse monitoring and control requirements.

Meanwhile, it exhibits strong vibration and shock resistance: it can withstand vibrations of 5-15 Hz with a 0.006" amplitude, 15-50 Hz with 0.5g, 50-100 Hz with 1g, and shocks of 15g with an 11ms half-sine wave. This allows the module to operate stably in various harsh industrial environments, ensuring reliable monitoring and control of the power system.

II. Functional FeaturesSignal Scaling Function

One of the core functions of the UR8FH module is to proportionally reduce the high current and high voltage in the actual power system to a range that relays can handle. For example, for thousands of amperes of current and hundreds of kilovolts of voltage in high-voltage transmission lines, its built-in current transformers and voltage transformers convert these large-value electrical signals into milliamp-level current and volt-level voltage, providing suitable input signals for relay monitoring and control. This function ensures that relays can accurately sense the operating parameters of the power system and thus make timely corresponding control decisions.

Multi-Channel Input Selection

The module offers a flexible input channel selection method. Users can connect voltage or contact signals to channels 1-4 or 5-8 according to actual needs.
